The music department has some BIG news to share! I was notified yesterday that not only did our Junior instrumental ensemble receive a Star- Superior rating at the State Music Festival, they also received an Outstanding Performance award from their judge! What this means is that out of all the entries that that particular judge saw that day, this group was the top performance. This is equivalent to a State Championship in music! With this award, this group will be recognized in the Parade of Champions at the State B Basketball Tournament in 2027. The last Outstanding Performance that Scranton has received at State was back in 2008. These students have worked very hard and I’m so incredibly proud of them! This is an awesome achievement for our school music program. Congratulations, Sahara, Chloe, Mardi, Romana, Kiley, & Nick!

The JH Track meet scheduled for May 4th and the high school track meet scheduled for May 5th have been canceled.

These students had an AWESOME day at the State Music festival today! I am so proud of their hard work and accomplishments. They gave some beautiful performances. We came to state with 15 students and 6 solos and ensembles. Every single student earned a star in at least one event, with 5 of our 6 entries earning a state star for their performance! Sing Alleluia, Sing- 🌟Superior Performance When I Have Sung My Songs- 🌟Superior Performance Closer to the Flame- 1 Excellent Performance Wade in the Water-Whole Choir! 🌟 Superior Performance Volte- 🌟 Superior Performance Rondeau- 🌟 Superior Performance Congratulations to all! A huge thank you, also, to our fabulous accompanist, Shannon Bowman! We could not do it without you! 💙🎶

Due to the large number of golfers for the JH/JV meet on Friday May 1 they have decided to split it up between two times. The Night Hawk golfers will start at 12:00 PM now instead of 9:00 AM.

Bus Driver Appreciation Day!!!
We would like to take a moment to recognize and sincerely thank our school bus drivers and substitutes. Our bus drivers are often the first and last faces students see each day, providing not only safe transportation but also a sense of consistency and care. Our substitutes step in with flexibility and dedication, ensuring that learning continues smoothly no matter the circumstance. Both roles require patience, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to our students’ well-being. We truly appreciate all that you do to support our school community each and every day.

Golf: Varsity Meet Home. Meet will begin at 9:00 am. Golfers in Hettinger by 8:00
